Advanced Specialization
The OIP certifies a basic level of training, or a
Certified Infrastructure Preparedness Specialist (CIPS),
as an individual completes basic CIPS training. To
progress as a CIPS professional, a candidate must
possess or gain additional, appropriate levels of
experience and knowledge. This allows the individual
to progress into areas of specialty that builds upon
his or her basic CIPS training. At this time, there
are additional levels of Advanced Specialization in
which CIPS professionals may grow further within
their career. Advanced CIPS Specialization includes
training and certification in:
Certified
Safety, Environmental, and Emergency Manager [CSEM]
Certified Emergency and Security Professional [CESP]
Certified Incident Management Trainer [CIMT]

management training occurs. Emphasized training
guidelines include: OSHA Emergency Response

CIMT
Refresher:
Comprehensive one (1) day annual refresher and
update training for certified CIMT professionals.
Certified
Dangerous Goods Professional [CDGP]
The
Pipeline/Hazardous Materials Safety Admin UN
Harmonization Standard becomes mandatory Jan 1,
2008. The
PHMSA, of the US Dept. of Transportation (DOT) has
revised its hazardous materials regulations to
maintain alignment with international standards by
incorporating amendments, including changes to
proper shipping names, hazard classes, packing
groups, special provisions, packaging
authorizations, air transport quantity limitations
and vessel stowage requirements. These revisions are
meant to harmonize the hazardous materials
regulations with changes to the International
Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, the International
Civil Aviation Organization’s Technical Instructions
for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air,
and also the United Nations Recommendations on the
Transport of Dangerous Goods.
The Certified
Dangerous Goods Transportation Specialist is meant
to recognize those qualified and trained persons who
have responsibility for handling, shipping, or
transporting dangerous goods. This includes most
company managers, trainers, pipeline security
personnel, as well as shippers, transporters, or
receivers of shipments of Dangerous Goods, as well
as anyone responsible for the PHMSA/DOT and Homeland
Security Required Dangerous Goods Security Plans in
private industry, government, hospitals, and
others.

Region 7 OSHA and EHS Training Institute Consortium.
Don is a highly trained and certified Master EHS
Trainer, OSHA Outreach Instructor, and an active
member of the Community and College Consortium of
Health and Safety Trainers
